Love Your Guests Along The Way

We chose People Look East to be our devotional hymn during Advent this year. We're only singing the first verse but it adds a lovely touch to the scriptures and candle lighting. Without thinking about it I said the girls could have a surprise if they learned the words and of course by the next morning Mary Clare could sing it with just a little twist.
The lyrics:
People Look East the time is near
of the crowning of the year.
Make your house fair as your are able
Trim the hearth and set the table.
People look east and sing today
Love the guest is on the way.

MC's singing is spot on at first but then she veers just a little off course. She sings
...trim the harp and set the table.
People look east and sing today
Love your guests along the way.

Still worthy of a surprise in my book and maybe we all need to be reminded to love our guests a little more.

On a slightly more alarming note, shortly after taking the above picture MC leaned over to blow out the candle and in her words "insinderated" her bangs. Thank goodness she wasn't burned badly and it's not terribly noticable. I wonder if this counts as being "on fire for the Lord"? ;-)
