Down On The Farm

Mary Clare's daycare visited Fox Tree Farm over Christmas and apparently it was mentioned that they would return for an Easter egg hunt. She was ecstatic and would periodically remind us that she was going back to Fox Tree Farm. The last two weeks she has asked every morning if today is the day. When I told her that she was going to spend the week home with me she was thrilled but reminded me that she was still going to Fox Tree Farm on the bus and that I would follow her in the car. She and Baba worked out this plan some weeks ago. I think she enjoys riding the bus almost as much as she does the actual trip.

Mom and I dropped her off at daycare just in time to board the bus. In case anyone who doesn't know her should think otherwise, this is not her usual daycare apparel. Our deal is she gets to wear what she wants to daycare (Thomas the tank engine shirt, soft pants and Thomas shoes) and I get to pick out her clothes the rest of the time. She was a very good sport about this pink bunny outfit.
The farm had a petting zoo section with ducks, bunnies, goats, a sheep, a donkey, a horse, a llama and a pig. Mary Clare loves animals!

Mary had a little lamb (well I'm sure it was little once upon a time)
This is Mary Clare's best pal. They've been together since Mary Clare first went to daycare. He's a sweet little guy and treated Mary Clare like royalty when she was a baby. I'd come to pick her up and find him holding her cup so that she could drink out of it and feeding her goldfish crackers by hand.

We all enjoyed the hayride.
Skipping off to the egg hunt

Mary Clare found the coveted silver egg. She peeled off the tin foil, opened and said, "Aw man! Deres nuffing in here."
Turns out the silver egg could be exchanged for a new friend.
Mary Clare showed bunny just how you sit in the saddle.

After school today, Margaret Rose, Mary Clare and I took PoPo to get her medicine at the pharmacy. While we waited on her, Mary Clare pointed out the birds and birds' nest that had been made in the big lighted letters of the store. The birds were living in the "a"s and when PoPo asked what other letters you could live in, the girls had a great time calling out all the letters with room. Mary Clare pointed out that you couldn't live in an "M". Margaret Rose told us that you could, however, live in a "w".

Margaret Rose and Baba spent the evening filling eggs for the kindergarten egg hunt.
